Product Information and Work Flow
Small-scale, distributed solar home systems provide an effective and affordable way to bring light to people without electricity in off grid areas. A basic system consists of a small solar panel, a battery, a charge controller, LED lights, and a universal outlet for charging cell-phones or other small appliances. Back in 1996, an innovative monthly installment based financial model introduced at the price of kerosene which has opened the door for Solar Home System (SHS). By following the path of this financial model, Silicon trading provides IDCOL approved products solar panel, solar charge controller, solar Batteries etc to Bright Green Energy Foundation (BGEF) and they have installed over 300,000 SHS in rural off-grid areas through its own network of over 300 rural branch offices all over Bangladesh. Over 6 million SHS has been installed all over Bangladesh till now. Around 15% people of Bangladesh are enjoying modern Electricity from Solar Energy. It is the Largest Solar Program of the current world. In many developing countries specially in South East Asian & African countries are replicating this model inspired from Bangladesh.

In Bangladesh rural irrigation system relies on Low Lift Pump, Shallow Tube Well and Deep Tube Well. Low Lift Pump and Shallow Tube Well mostly use diesel and DTW is mainly operated by electricity. A solar powered irrigation pump is a best possible source to overcome this seasonal irrigation problem. The solar pumps reduce farmers’ dependence on diesel supply, which is costly particularly in remote rural areas.
BGEF has started installing Solar Irrigation pump (SIP) in rural off grid areas of Bangladesh which are provided and designed by Silicon trading also with silicon trading's technical support this project start from June 2015 to provide low cost water for the agricultural sector of the country and to replace hazardous diesel run traditional pumps which are currently in use. BGEF has already completed Twenty-Four (24) SIPs in rural (Kushtia & Dinajpur) Bangladesh. These installed pumps are producing over 16 Lac - 22 Lac liters of water each day from ground water source and providing irrigation water for over 120-150 Bigha of land.
BGEF has a plan to install 500 Solar Irrigation Pumps (SIP) in difference areas of Bangladesh within next few years.

Using NASTEC pump and Grundfos Pump in our irrigation projects. Successfully installed 24 pumps on our solar irrigation projects.
We offer pumps with capacity of 15KW and 18KW. The panel capacity is between 25KW to 45KW.
We are also using European quality JA Solar panel in irrigation projects.

Solar Street Light is been playing a significant role in the rural areas of Bangladesh. Solar Street Lights can be benefiting the community villages, local markets, Mosques and Temples, roads and other public places. The community people can keep on their business and other regular activities easily at night. It’s specially benefiting the Social Security, Women Safety and improvement of Law & Order Situation. Thus it increases the living condition of the community people. So, Solar Street Lights can play a vital role to ensure the social security and improve the Law and order situation specially in the rural areas and benefit the community peoples. Silicon Trading has installed around 15,634 Solar Street Lights in rural areas of Bangladesh.
